I started my journey on stage from the tender age of 5, acting in school productions, participating in singing and dancing competitions, debating
and emceeing. Post graduating from university, while working in advertising and marketing, I continued to pursue acting as a hobby.
In 2009 I was introduced to film and since then it changed my perspective of looking at acting as a possible full time career choice. And that chance
to permanently transition came in 2016 when I left my flourishing career in media and journalism to undertake acting as a bonafide profession.
I've honed my skills by taking up selective acting courses in Method Acting, Meisner Technique, body movement, vocal training and even script writing.
As I blossomed as an actor, I simultaneously dabbled in behind the scenes functions working as a production assistant, hair makeup & wardrobe manager,
assistant director, writer, director and now producer. I even started understanding how the technical aspects work, because I believe that to be a
convincing and reliable actor, one must respect every facet of filmmaking as it not only humbles the process but prepares you to be resourceful and
aware actor.
To me, it's not important as to why I would like to be an actor. What's pertinent is- what kind of an actor I'd like to be.
As an actor- I observe, I imbibe, I become the character. Playing with characters, everything from their looks to their personality gives me immense joy.
It's a fascinating process for me to truthfully portray the soul of the person I'm breathing life into.
Embarking on this journey at a much later stage in my life is even more satisfying with my parents' blessings and belief that I am good at what I do.
The adventure from being just an actor to a sincere actor continues to unravel. But I can genuinely say that it can only get better with each passing
experience.
I'm keen on exploring all indie film avenues, including feature, short and web series productions. As a realist, I know I'm aptly suited for independent
films as opposed to commercial films, although I have no favourites and it would be an honour to work in anything I get an opportunity to showcase my
talent in.
The world of film consumes me and I can't wait to see what else hard work and destiny has in store for a multipotentialite cinephile like me.
